The Titan Outpost and it’s team

With juniors and seniors leaving campus (and bringing sophomores and freshmen with them quite often), the Titan Outpost’s revenue has dropped significantly this school year.
The Titan Outpost student store at West is one of the vital components of the school. It has been a contributing factor to the community centered environment of West for many years. Teacher Stacy Kilgroe offered her insight. “The student store benefits the school because we’re able to provide students with a lunch or a snack… The best thing about the whole program is it’s a work experience for the students,” she said. The student store offers many benefits to students that makes it a very important part of the school.
But not all is well; the store’s revenue has experienced a serious decline- over 60%- and the culprit appears to be juniors and seniors bringing their younger friends along with them. “Last year we had juniors and seniors leave and it was not a big deal, but this year since it’s one lunch and basically an open campus I’d say our revenue’s down at least over 60%,” said Kilgroe, “I don’t think it’s so much as the juniors and seniors leaving. I believe it’s because of the freshmen and sophomores leaving now; I know it’s supposed to be a closed campus for them, but I think we all know that that’s not the truth.”
A knowledgeable senior, Andrew O’Dell, also weighed in. “I would assume that since more juniors and seniors and now sophomores are getting their license, less people are available to buy stuff from the student store, which is causing their decrease in revenue.” These factors all pose the question on if anyone at all should be allowed to leave; since it seems the juniors and seniors have been taking people who aren’t supposed to leave with them.
There’s not much consensus on a solution as of now. Kilgroe has stated the student store will not close down; O’Dell offered some insight on the issue as well. “I don’t think they would close… They might go every other day or so, because I think if they’re open less they’d have more traffic.” The main factor seems to be the fact that anyone’s allowed to be off campus at all, so only time will tell if they will still be allowed to leave in the future.
