There are 9 weeks until the 2023-2024 school year is over. This time can cause seniors an overwhelming amount of stress, excitement, or both.
Some seniors are ready for this school year to end and to get on with their lives. Dorian Falcon says, “I feel happy seeing the finish line so close after working so hard for so long on school and extracurriculars.”
Celina Ball feels very similar, saying, “I’m excited that there are only three months left of school, I’m ready to be done, even though I will be a little upset that I’m leaving, I am ready for summer.”
We hear a lot about “senioritis” on social media but is it real and how does it actually affect seniors? Falcon says, “Yeah, it’s very real it’s just a feeling of, ‘I’ve worked long enough I can afford to miss a few classes and take longer mornings.’ it’s a huge decline in motivation.”
For high schools, it’s very important that they do well preparing students for their futures. Ball believes, “West did a good job helping me, especially the AVID program my junior and senior year. It really helped me with everything I needed to know moving forward.”
